Mathias Stubø aka Proviant Audio is 18 years old and plays / writes / produces a mixture of modern elctronica with elements of balaeric disco and 70’s funk / soul. The result is a peculiar, warm and dancefloor friendly blend of smoky East Coast beats, militant underground disco and uncompromising funk. Mathias was already feeling the love from NRK by the time he was just 14, his first Urørt track of the week making him the youngest recipient ever. Since then he’s had another Urørt track of the week, a nomination for Urørt band of the year, been described as Norway’s hottest producer, got on the C-list and had a slew of spot plays that have helped Mathias really get his career off the ground. In the last few years Mathias and his band have amongst others appeared at key festivals Hove, Kongsberg Jazzfestival, Slottsfjell and at KlubbØya. His band Proviant Audio were picked as one of by:Larm 2010’s highlights by British tabloid News of The World and at Hove as one of the festival director’s favorite shows. Mathias has also remixed / discoified tracks for the likes of Jaga Jazzist, LidoLido, Lama, Monzano, Vinter In Hollywood, Eat More Cake and Honeytraps. At by:Larm 2011 Mathias will showcase the deeper, more electronic side to his music, which aims to create a more intense and just plain funky vibe. Autumn 2010 saw four separate releases from different labels in Norway, Germany, England and Spain.
