For a band that began life at an asylum seekers centre in Bergen, FORZA have quickly established themselves amongst the elite of what could loosely be called “world music” and this hip-hop hybrid are helping themselves to whatever they like from the top shelf in the world’s musical supermarket. They’re truly genre defying, blending hip-hop and folk music with rock and pop all served up on a bed of mighty beats. After they played by:Larm for the first time in 2010, Dagsavisen (big Norwegian daily) described FORZA as Norway’s most exciting new live act. Since their by:Larm debut the band have played festivals all over Norway, from Hove in the far South to Karlsøyfestivalen up North. Towards the end of the summer they released the single “Mr. King” which was playlisted on NRK P3 and word soon spread of their burgeoning live reputation, eclectic sounds delivered with real energy. So much has happened for FORZA since by:Larm in 2010 that the festival has decided to have them back straight away. Get your party vibe on and do not miss this must see show.
