Hypertext started life in 2006 as a quartet. In the four years since, they’ve added two to their number whilst sending two players out on loan. A little while ago they released their third album, snappily entitled “Astronaut Kraut!” This innovative and ambitious project pushes the boundaries of what is really allowed in the alternative scene and features guest appearances from the likes of Kjetil Møster (Datarock/Ultralyd), Njål Clementsen and Linn Frøkedal (The Low Frequency in Stereo/The Megaphonic Thrift). Some quotes from their last appearance at by:Larm
“Hypertext were in some ways a mess but in a good way: they reconciled jam-band tendencies with a 70s pop bounce. If I had a bar, I’d ask them to do a residency.” – Matt McDonald, CMJ “The guitars flutter, hum, twist and crash against each other on top of a rumbling rhythm section. But deep down, there’s what we always look for: good well written songs.” – Dagbladet live review 5/6
