“Young, promising and as yet an undiscovered talent, Jonas Alaska has a most distinctive voice that stays with you long after you hear it. We reckon this act will have national attention in the none to distant future.” – Canalstreet festival program Jonas Alaska is a 22 year old singer songwriter from Åmli in rural South Eastern Norway. Currently he’s a Liverpool resident though, whilst he studies music at LIPA. He’s a regular on the Liverpool live circuit playing both with his band and solo shows. Musical reference points would include Dylan, Neil young, Paul Simon but as regional paper Arendal’s Tidene wrote “Even though he’s got skinny jeans, a marmonica, boots and a guitar, he’s no Dylan knock-off. He has his own distinct identity and his own sound that feels fresh and contemporary.” Autumn 2010 saw Jonas go into the studio to lay down his debut album. Joining him will be his older brother Thomas (Pow Pow, The Cheaters, Thom Hell), Thom Hell himself, Kjetil Grande, Even Ormstad (Jaga Jazzist) and Audun Borrmann.
