The five guys in Pow Pow have known each other since they were all still in nappies and have the kind of intuitive understanding of each other that only people that have spent that long together can have. Pow Pow came together in its earliest form when they were all an a gap year together and the results of that initial phase of the band can be heard on their 2007 debut “Leaving Las Palmas”. Almost immediately the band took another direction with work on the record “Last Days On Earth” which finally found its way to public ears in Autumn 2010. With “Last Days on Earth”, Pow Pow have cut all ties to their post-rock past and begun to explore new and exciting parts of the cosmos where forces connect different musical worlds. A part of space where strict symmetry can work in concert with decedent opulence. The album is the product of a group of boys with ears like satellites, picking up musical signals from all over the galaxy. A level of ambition that borders on megalomania and an almost puritanical work ethic are de rigeur for Pow Pow: Each and every beat will be a rebirth, every bass rumble a musical tidal wave.
