Guro von Germeten is an artist as unconventional as a singer songwriter with an accordion. Since her first show back in November ‘08 she has garnered plenty of attention for her timeless sound, inspired by heroes like Piaf and Jaques Brel, but given a contemporary twist with newer influences such as Wendy McNeill and Emir Kusturica. It is passionate stuff, you’d file it under Chansons but interspersed with a bit of Balkan and even klezmer. In October this firecracker of an artist released her debut full length – “Bad Dreams and Good Nightmares”, a collection of stories of not so heroic super heroes, sad circus clowns, beautiful female accordion players and dark side streets.
